Tony is a consultant solicitor in private practice with over 25 years experience in a variety of areas of law, ranging from low level debt work and family matters to multi- million pound commercial cases including a national test case on the interpretation of Revenue (Corporation tax) law.
He has recently returned to work for the same firm he worked with from 1983 to1987 undertaking criminal law matters, litigation and commercial litigation cases. Over the 25+ years he has worked in small and medium sized local solicitors firms and large organisations including Tyne & Wear Passenger Transport Executive. He successfully ran his own practice from 2003 to 2007.
Whether dealing with clients who are powerful company executives or homeless people with drink/drug related issues he has always been aware that the legal problems may only be part of a bigger picture and therefore he has always tried to work outside the box by working with or liaising with agencies as a facilitator to provide a network of support and assistance. He works with and advises a number of Charities and is chairman of Trustees for one charity and trustee for another.
Through his personal interests and his work he is an experienced and effective communicator and has been involved in one to one training of staff as well as organising and presenting training programmes. By using simple methods and illustrations he can convey themes in a way that anyone can understand.
